B-HERO: Tough Kids Training - 8/13/2025 (Virtual)

Description

Some students exhibit behaviors that characterize them as “Tough Kids.” Tough Kids training is focused on providing practical and proven strategies to help students learn appropriate behaviors.  Tough Kids training emphasizes ready-to-use, classroom tested materials and strategies to help motivate and manage even the toughest-to-teach students. Training focuses on:

  • Mystery Motivators
  • The application of home notes
  • Student self-monitoring of behavior
  • Behavioral contracts
  • Data-driven tracking procedures
  • Reinforcer systems and classroom interventions

Provide staff with practical, evidence-based strategies for dealing effectively with tough problems like arguing, aggression toward staff and other students, noncompliance, lack of motivation, and poor academic performance.

Intended Audience: K-12 educators, administrators, counselors, paraprofessionals
