2026 ND Out-of-School Time Summit (August 5th-6th, 2026)

You’re invited to the 2026 North Dakota Out-of-School Time Summit! This year’s Summit centers around rejuvenation, celebration, and behavior navigation. The ND Out-of-School Time Summit is back in person August 5th & 6th to provide two dynamic days of research-based practices, information, tools, and resources.

Day 1, August 5th:

• Keynote: Avoid Burnout, Increase Outcomes, and Learn to Love Out-of-School Time Again
  • Rejuvenate your practices with Chase Mielke, a nationally recognized educator, author, and staff keynote speaker dedicated to preventing burnout and reigniting purpose in schools!
• Breakout Sessions: 
  • Train the Brain After School: Executive Function in Action (Learning Beyond Paper)
  • Building Trust, Belonging, and Student Success (Frannie Tunseth, Teacher of the Year)
  • More sessions coming soon!
• Film Debut
  • Conclude Day 1 with an exclusive pre-screening of the new OST documentary, School's Out: How Out-of-School Time Programs are Shaping North Dakota's Youth followed by a Q&A panel with those featured in the documentary (Regional After School Program (RASP), North Dakota's Gateway to Science, Boys and Girls Club of the Red River Valley, North Valley Career and Technical Center).

Day 2, August 6th:

• Keynote Presenter: Nicole Bassett (Safe and Civil Schools) will present all sessions on Day 2.

DELIVERY:  This summit will be offered over 2 days face-to-face.  Please note the difference in start times for each day below:

• Day 1 (August 5th) - 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM
• Day 2 (August 6th) - 7:45 AM - 4:00 PM

AUDIENCE:  Out-of-School Time Program Staff

CREDIT:  One graduate credit (15 content hours) will be available through VSCU or 15 hours of ND Registry approved hours (7.5 hours/per day).
