B-HERO: PREPare Workshop 2 - Virtual (Fall 2026)

Description

During this workshop, participants gain the knowledge necessary to meet the mental health needs of students and staff following school-associated crisis events.

Objectives: Upon completion of PREPaRE Workshop 2, participants will be able to:

  1. Prevent and prepare to mitigate psychological trauma,
  2. Reaffirm the physical and psychological safety of members of the school community,
  3. Evaluate and conduct psychological triage,
  4. Respond to the psychological needs of the school community utilizing a multi-tiered approach, and
  5. Examine the effectiveness of school crisis intervention and recovery efforts.

Audience: School-based mental health professionals (school counselors, social workers, psychologists; those with clinical or non-clinical backgrounds)

Graduate Credit Information: 1 Standalone Credit through VCSU available (details available during workshop)

PREPare Workshop 2 has FOUR Virtual sessions - November 2nd, 9th, 16th, & 23rd from 8:30am-12:00pm. Participants MUST attend all sessions for Graduate Credit.
