Description

Every educator works to provide a safe and enjoyable learning environment for their students. This course focuses on how educators can reduce barriers to learning and increase motivation to achieve by creating clear expectations, managing disruptive students, and creating positive relationships. At its heart, the CHAMPS approach is designed to help teachers create and implement a classroom management plan that is proactive, positive, and instructional. Using practical strategies that set the stage for appropriate behavior, the teacher is able to focus on maintaining positive interactions. Students become more motivated and engaged in the classroom. This process improves the classroom dynamics by building a strong sense of classroom community.

Objectives: Upon completion of the session, participants will be able to:

  1. Create a classroom management plan that is proactive, positive and instructional.

  2. Implement a classroom management plan that is proactive, positive and instructions.

  3. Use practical strategies that encourage appropriate student behavior.
