Description
Improving Reading Fluency supports educators in defining, assessing, teaching, and integrating reading fluency cross-content and grade levels. Educators will understand, evaluate, and practice practical, content agnostic reading fluency strategies to assist learners in improving reading fluency. One full day face-to-face session plus three one-hour technical assistance sessions will provide fluency strategy application assistance.
Objectives: Upon completion of this offering, participants will be able to:
- DEFINE the purpose and importance of reading fluency.
- UNDERSTAND and IMPLEMENT efficient and effective assessment and monitoring of reading fluency.
- EVALUATE a variety of explicit reading fluency instructional strategies and routines.
- CREATE a plan to integrate fluency strategies and routines in the classroom
