SEEC - ND COUNTS: Essentials of Math Instruction (Fall 2026) - Cohort A (Wahpeton) [Multi-Day Series]

Description

This three-day training sequence engages math teachers (grades 4-8) in studying the progression of learning across middle grades and the key competencies of problem solving, connections, and reasoning and proof. Each session engages participants in experiential-based learning with participants completing activities from high-quality instructional materials through the viewpoint of students and reflecting from an instructional and pedagogical lens.

Participant Outcomes:

  • Richer content knowledge on the progression of learning in foundational focus topics across middle grades.
  • Experience with research-based best practices in mathematics, including explicit instruction and data-driven decision making.
  • Strategies to support students in accessing grade-level content and addressing unfinished learning through differentiation.

This professional development series was designed and developed by NDDPI, NDREA, and district personnel in partnership with SchoolKit.

DELIVERY:  This series will be offered over 3 full-day FACE-TO-FACE sessions throughout the school year.

CREDIT:  This opportunity is offered for 1 optional graduate continuing education credit through VCSU (separate fee required).  Participants must attend all 3 days to be eligible for credit.
