Description

Engaging Learners in Academic Vocabulary provides K-12 educators a practical, content agnostic instructional routine to support improved vocabulary development by effectively assisting learners in connecting and applying prioritized academic vocabulary. In addition, three one-hour implementation sessions will assist in day-to-day application of the academic vocabulary routine.

Objectives:

1. Understand the purpose of explicit vocabulary instruction
2. Identify academic vocabulary terms
3. Evaluate a curriculum, content, and grade-level agnostic academic vocabulary instructional routine.
4. Create a plan for implementing the academic vocabulary routine
